Wallowa Lake Sprint Triathlon

Dear Community Business Partner,

Wallowa Lake State Park and Safe Harbors are very proud to announce the third annual Wallowa Lake Triathlon: Race to End Abuse. Last year we had 93 participants and expect a significant increase in number of entries this year. This will provide a phenomenal opportunity for patronage of local businesses, particularly those choosing to become sponsors. This event will take place September 15, 2013 and we hope to welcome you as a sponsor.

Safe Harbors is again working to create an annual event that will bring business to Wallowa County while promoting the healthy lifestyle that triathlons encourage. We also hope that by publicly racing to end abuse we can set an example as a county that does not tolerate abuse in any form.

The continued success of this fundraising event is contingent on community support, and all proceeds will benefit Safe Harbors in their quest to aid victims of abuse in Wallowa County. While we intend for sponsorship to remain within the county, we hope to attract triathletes from around the Northwest for our “destination race”. Sponsoring this race will gain your company strong brand loyalty from race participants, who prefer to support a race sponsor’s product if at all possible. Research has shown that 86% of triathletes are more likely to purchase a sponsor’s product over a non-sponsor, and the number of triathletes in the U.S. is continually growing.

Below is our sponsorship package, please take a moment to review it. All sponsors will receive special acknowledgment based on their level of sponsorship. Sponsorship levels are described in the packet and offer a range of contribution options. Please make checks payable to: Safe Harbors-Triathlon

We are so excited about this event and the opportunity to work with our community business partners. If you have any questions please contact Safe Harbors at the contact information listed below.

Thank you very much!

Triathlon Sponsorship, It’s a Matter of Numbers

The decision whether to sponsor an event hinges on numbers, and in the case of the triathlon industry, the numbers are great.  Renewed calls for a fitter society have increased interest in running and triathlon events from a broad segment of the population. Triathlon is the fastest growing sport in the US with triathlon participation at an all-time high. The most recent study from Sporting Goods Manufacturers Association shows 2,295,000 million unique Americans participated in at least one triathlon in 2011…a 55% growth from the previous year! Most importantly, 78% reported participating in sprint length triathlons, such as the Wallowa Lake Triathlon: Race to End Abuse.

In addition, few other sports can boast the demographics of the average triathlon participant.  In a study recently conducted by USA Triathlon, more than 50 percent of its members earned over $100,000 annually with an average income of $126,000.

Race participants are some of the fittest people in the United States:  aligning your company with the Wallowa Lake Triathlon: Race to End Abuse reinforces your brand’s image as dynamic, modern, innovative and driven.

In addition, sponsoring this race will gain your company a tremendous amount of brand loyalty from race participants. More than 86 percent of USA Triathlon members have indicated that they would be more likely to purchase a sponsor’s product over that of a non-sponsor’s competing product.
